Kinetics Drive Solutions commercial solutions are designed for power packages in the high horse power (HP) ranges of +250 HP up to and including 1500 HP. The Hydro-Mechanical series provides a parallel power path through the transmission permitting it to continuously transfer power in a combination of hydraulic and mechanical modes. When operating at low speed, Kinetics Drive Solutions hydro-mechanical infinitely variable transmissions (HM-IVTs) allow engines to produce high torque at very slow speeds. When operating at high speed the transmission operates almost fully in mechanical mode, offering significant efficiency along with excellent high speed efficiency. The Kinetics Drive Solution designs provide solutions for heavy duty and high torque applications and for engines with narrow band or constant RPM requirements.
Designed for tracked vehicles up to 21 ton with engine ratings of up-to 400 HP. The HMX 1100 is infinitely variable in both forward and reverse directions and fully capable of equal speeds. The HMX provides two special features not seen in conventional tracked-vehicle transmission systems: 1) consistent steering control response irrespective of direction and 2) hydrostatic braking which ensures long life and reduced brake maintenance.
Designed for tracked vehicles up to 28 Tons with engine ratings of up to 600HP. The HMX 1600HD is infinity variable for both forward and reverse directions and is fully capable of equal speeds. The HMX 1600HD offers all the same features as the HMX 1100 with the addition of a heavy duty Power Take Off (PTO) for special applications requiring power up to 300 HP.
Designed for tracked vehicles up to 30 Tons with engine ratings of up-to 800 HP. The HMX 3000 is infinitely variable in both forward and reverse and is fully capable of equal speeds in both directions. The HMX 3000 makes use of the Kinetics’ proprietary lightweight integrated pump motor (IPM) variators. The design delivers transmissions with very high power density.
Designed for tracked vehicles up to 45 Tons with engine ratings of up-to 1,000 HP. The HMX 3500 is infinitely variable for both forward and reverse directions and fully capable of equal speeds in both directions. The HMX 3500 makes use of the Kinetics Drive Solutions’ lightweight integrated pump motor (IPM) variators. The design provides a very high power density transmission. This transmission is designed around the need for mobility of existing vehicles, with limitations in space constraints. The HMX 3500 can drive a 1,000 HP prime mover within the same space envelope as an existing 800 HP transmission.
Kinetics’ transmissions provide speed ratio coverage from infinity to overdrive and do not require a drive belt, torque converter, or reverse gear set.
Kinetics Drive Solutions are inherently scalable due to the integrated pump motor (IPM) instead of a traditional variator. IPMs can be combined into multiple, parallel systems, making hydro-mechanical infinitely variable transmissions suitable for a wide range of applications.
Our hydro-mechanical infinitely variable transmissions provide vehicles with equal speeds in both forward and reverse. In addition, where needed they provide extreme creep speed capabilities without the need for high heat dissipation.
Using a hybrid hydro-mechanical infinitely variable transmission allows vehicle designers to harness the hydraulics features for retardation braking as well as engine control.
The HMX range of track transmissions provides infinitely variable, hydrostatic-regenerative,
bi-directional steering with the optional steer by wire.
By allowing engines – no matter the application – to run in their optimal range, Kinetics Drive Solutions hydro-mechanical infinitely variable transmissions improve overall vehicle performance.
While hybrid and electric vehicles deliver fuel economy, a conventionally powered vehicle with a Kinetics Drive Solutions hydro-mechanical infinitely variable transmission will eliminate emissions at a lower cost.
By embedding an intelligent sensing and feedback system into all transmissions, Kinetics Drive Solutions ensures drive train efficiency under variable load and terrain conditions. The drive train automatically balances performance against drive requirements and ensures the engine remains fuel efficient.
Allowing engines to operate in their ‘sweet spot’ helps reduce the wear and tear caused by typical over- and under- loading caused by discreet shift transmissions that cannot intelligently handle power requirements given operator and terrain demand.
By making critical performance decisions for drivers, Kinetics Drive Solutions hydro-mechanical infinitely variable transmissions allow operators to focus on their main task — whether driving, digging, grading, or harvesting for optimal efficiency and productivity.
